Synopsis
James Gunn’s Superman (2025) brings a fresh, hopeful energy to the Man of Steel mythos. Rather than rehashing the classic origin story, the film introduces us to an already established Superman compassionate, powerful, and trying to reconcile his alien heritage with his human upbringing. David Corenswet plays Clark Kent/Superman with sincerity, and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane delivers strong, grounded support. Their chemistry, especially in quieter, character-driven scenes, is one of the movie’s most affecting strengths.
Visually, the film is striking: the CGI and action sequences feel dynamic and polished. At the same time, Gunn peppers in moments of humor and small emotional beats like Superman saving a squirrel or sharing breakfast for dinner which give the movie a distinct charm. However, this tonal mix is a double-edged sword: some critics feel that the film juggles too many subplots, which makes it feel a bit overcrowded and rushed in places.
On the antagonist front, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor is more tech-bro than mustache-twirling genius, which gives his schemes a modern twist. Still, some viewers find his motivations underdeveloped, and certain narrative threads such as the interdimensional conflicts could have used more breathing room. Despite that, the film does offer thought-provoking themes about power, identity, and public trust.
One of the most talked-about aspects especially for non-English viewers is the Hindi dubbed version. The dub doesn’t always land perfectly: it occasionally inserts awkward local references or humor that feels out of place. While die-hard DC fans might argue the original English dialogues carry more of the story’s emotional weight, the Hindi dub still provides a decent way for a broader audience to enjoy the spectacle.
